Why El Roi?

The name El Roi comes from Genesis 16:13 and means "The God Who Sees Me." In Genesis, Hagar found herself alone, afraid, and feeling forgotten. She had been mistreated, abandoned, and uncertain about what the future would hold. Yet in the midst of her pain, God met her. Hagar called Him El Roi, a name used only once in Scripture, because she realized that even in her darkest moment, she was not invisible. She was seen, known, and cared for by God.

At our core, we all long for that same experience. We were created for connection and relationship. We want to be seen, understood, accepted, and loved. Yet life's wounds, disappointments, and struggles can leave us feeling isolated, misunderstood, or unseen.

At El Roi Christian Counseling, I seek to create a space where you feel seen, heard, and valued. A space where healing, growth, and restoration can take place. I believe meaningful change happens within a safe and trusting therapeutic relationship, and I am intentional about creating an environment that is honest, supportive, and compassionate.

As a Christian counselor, I offer faith integration for those who desire it, while always respecting each client's comfort level and personal journey. Whether faith is a central part of your counseling experience or simply one aspect of your story, our work together will be guided by your goals and needs.
